In a year where it seems like everyone is relying on emails asking for help, I'm really grateful to have my friend Senator Baldwin's support both as we work together in the Senate and as I seek re-election this fall. I know how many campaigns are asking for your investment, so I only wanted to email you when it was really important.

You'll hear a lot more about my race and my opponent — former football coach Tommy Tuberville — but there is a really clear contrast in this race that has a lot of parallels with what's going on in our country right now.

My race is about unity vs. division. I have a record of finding common ground, working across party lines, and getting things done. My opponent is an inexperienced hyper-partisan who will just add to the divide in Washington.

The polling shows that Alabama is ready to come together and choose unity over division, and if you look at the national polls, our country feels the same way.

Mitch McConnell and his allies are going to do everything they can to beat me. Starting today, they are spending almost $4 million on television attacking me. But there are very encouraging signs — two recent polls have shown that we are in what is for all intents and purposes a dead heat. Despite the attacks, our path to victory is getting wider every day.
