Ohio Republicans just pulled a fast one on voters. Right before Thanksgiving, they rammed through Senate Bill 293, a bill that could disenfranchise thousands of Ohioans, with zero Democratic support and just one public hearing.

Governor DeWine hasn't said whether he'll veto it, despite previously promising no further voting restrictions in 2023.

Here's what Senate Bill 293 does:

* Eliminates Ohio's four-day grace period for mailed ballots, meaning if the postal service is slow, your vote won't count;
* Requires proof of citizenship to register, creating new hoops for eligible voters to jump through, and;
* Forces election officials to challenge voters flagged in databases that we know contain errors.

This bill would have thrown out 8,000 legitimate ballots in the last presidential election alone.

This isn't election security. It's voter suppression dressed up in bureaucratic language. We’re not fooled, and we know you aren’t either.
