For two-month-old Hedwig, life began on the streets of Chicago. Born outside with his mom and siblings, every day was a fight for warmth and safety. When his finder noticed a fast-growing hernia, they reached out to PAWS Chicago for help.

Our team made room at the PAWS Chicago Nan & Wayne Kocourek Medical Center for the tiny kitten right away. Hedwig underwent corrective surgery, recovered in loving care, and—just thirteen days later—was adopted into a home where he’s now cherished, safe, and loved.
