Minards Sentenced After Pleading Guilty to Two Felonies

*LANSING* – Today, Robert Minard, 48, and Anné Minard, 38, both of Bath Township, were sentenced by Judge James Jamo of the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County to a 6-month delayed sentence and 36 months of probation, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Each pled guilty to two felony charges pursuant to a plea agreement. The Minards are additionally required to pay full restitution for amounts owed to the Michigan Department of Treasury.

The Minards were charged in December of 2023 [ [link removed] ] with multiple felonies, including conducting a criminal enterprise, for their role in allegedly misappropriating funds from three non-profit organizations and two political action committees tied to former Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield.

Robert Minard pled guilty in November [ [link removed] ] to one count of larceny by false pretenses - $20,000 or more but less than $50,000 for stealing funds from Working Together for a Better Michigan, an independent political action committee, and the political candidates that Working Together for a Better Michigan was supposed to be assisting and one count of filing a false tax return. Anné Minard pled guilty in October [ [link removed] ] to one count of embezzlement - $1,000 or more but less than $20,000 - from a non-profit or charitable organization for embezzling funds from the Peninsula Fund and one count of filing a false tax return.

As a condition of the plea agreements, the Minards have agreed to provide truthful testimony in future hearings.
