Good Afternoon from Capitol Hill.

The House and Senate are in this week working through the NDAA, healthcare legislation, and appropriations before leaving for the Christmas break until the week of January 5th, 2026.

This week, to follow up last week's Compass ([link removed]) , Senator Mike Lee joined for an interview on earmarks. Senator Lee has been a vocal critic of earmarks. He graciously took time out of his busy schedule to explain his motivation, his view of their corrupting nature, and why he thinks they're destructive to the legislative process.
