ICE is back in Chicago.

Yesterday, Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino returned with hundreds of agents, targeting immigrant communities right before the holidays.

This is happening just days after Governor JB Pritzker signed legislation to protect our immigrant neighbors — a clear reminder of how far the Trump administration is willing to go to undermine our values here in Illinois.

The Department of Homeland Security claims these raids are about public safety and “decreasing crime.” But there is nothing safe about terrorizing families at grocery stores or targeting people trying to earn an honest living. These actions don’t make us safer — they spread fear and tear communities apart.

Moments like this demand leaders who aren’t afraid to fight back and call out injustice.

I’ve never shied away from defending our immigrant communities. As Lieutenant Governor, I helped implement landmark policies to protect immigrant families. I’ve protested and marched alongside our neighbors. And I will never back down when families and basic rights are on the line.

That’s the kind of leader I will be — as Lieutenant Governor, and as your next United States Senator.

But my opponent can’t say the same.

My opponent, Raja Krishnamoorthi, claims he stands with immigrant communities, but in reality, he’s bankrolled by the very people enabling ICE!

He’s taken money from multiple Trump advisors — including one who is closely tied to ICE’s enforcement operations.

Our immigrant communities deserve better than a Senator who will put MAGA interests above working families. And he’s the last person Illinois should send to the U.S. Senate.
