The GOP primary has officially begun, and what once looked like a one-horse race no longer is.

After securing Trump’s early endorsement, Gina Swoboda appeared to have a clear path forward. But with Freedom Caucus member State Rep. Joseph Chaplik entering the race, Republicans are now heading into a real and potentially ugly primary.

That matters.

A contentious GOP primary risks dividing Republican voters, and it creates the best opportunity we’ve had in decades to flip this district.

We see the opening. Now we have to seize it.

That’s why we’re building our war chest: so no matter which Democrat emerges from the AZ-01 primary, we’re prepared to invest heavily, drive turnout, and win this seat in November.
