Eight years ago, 12 people were killed and 70 more were injured when a gunman opened fire in a crowded movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.

Aurora is one of the deadliest mass shootings in modern U.S. history in part because the perpetrator used a military-style AR-15 rifle with an extended magazine.

In the eight years since Aurora, Congress has failed to ban these deadly assault weapons. Assault weapons are designed for war, to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. They should not be in the hands of civilians.

Will you sign our petition TODAY to demand a comprehensive ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines? [[link removed]?]

Add your signature today to honor the victims and survivors of the Aurora shooting. For all who have been killed by assault weapons in the eight years since. For those who will become victims of these deadly weapons if we do not take action.

It’s in our hands,

Kris Brown,
President of Brady
