PHYSICIANS IN THE PRESS

Since Roe v. Wade fell, over 400 prosecutions for pregnancy loss, miscarriage, and abortion have been documented—as law enforcement increasingly treat medical emergencies as crimes. PRH's President & CEO Dr. Jamila Perritt and Pregnancy Justice’s President Lourdes A. Rivera co-authored this powerful piece in The Nation on the terrifying reality of pregnancy criminalization and what we can do to stop it.

“Our personal advocacy for our loved ones, our laws, policies, and medical guidelines must support one premise: No one should be criminalized for being pregnant, however that pregnancy ends."

Recently, the New York Times editorial board claimed abortion "continues to be accessible" despite the Dobbs decision—dangerously oversimplifying the devastation patients face every single day. Dr. Tejasvi Gowda, an Ob/Gyn and PRH Fellow, responded with a letter setting the record straight: Yes, abortion numbers have increased nationwide but not because access is easy.

“Increasing abortion numbers reflect the grit of advocates who continue to make abortion available, from telehealth service expansion to assistance via abortion funds.”

The Trump administration published a report falsely claiming gender-affirming care harms youth—contradicting decades of research showing it's beneficial and lifesaving. Dr. Bianca Allison, pediatrician and PRH Fellow, spoke to Truthout to make clear this care “is not fringe; it’s standard, developmentally appropriate health care.”

When the clinic opens in 2026, it will be one of only a handful of all-trimester providers in the country.

“Making sure we can train any provider who wants to provide this care is part of our model, so that way there’s a lot more of us.”

PRESS RELEASE
SCOTUS Hears Oral Arguments on Crisis Pregnancy Center Case

[link removed] [[link removed]]

As the Supreme Court hears arguments on Crisis Pregnancy Centers, PRH's President & CEO Dr. Jamila Perritt condemned these fake clinics for using shame, coercion, and outright lies to deceive pregnant people seeking abortion care.
