** Dear John,
------------------------------------------------------------

Every summer, Miguel* wakes up before sunrise to pick tomatoes, peaches, and watermelon—work that feeds families across the US. He’s here legally on an H-2A visa, but like many farmworkers, he doesn’t have health insurance. To manage his diabetes, Miguel relies on community health centers.

Now, a proposed rule change threatens to take that lifeline away.

The new interpretation of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 would redefine “public health benefit” to exclude people like Miguel—even those here legally—from accessing health centers. If passed, this change would block Miguel from the care he needs to survive.

That’s where our Health Network comes in.

Health Network connects patients like Miguel to care—across state lines, across systems, across barriers. But if this rule passes, even our best efforts may not be enough. Diabetes doesn’t wait. Untreated, it can lead to blindness, kidney failure, amputations, and even death.

This proposal is political. Miguel’s health shouldn’t be.

Your gift before 12/31 protects access to care for farmworkers like Miguel and pushes back against policies that put lives at risk.

Let’s stand together—for compassion over politics.
