John,

Our campaign got good news and bad news last week.

First, let me give you the bad news: a national, nonpartisan political analyst just said our race will be more competitive than we hoped:
That means we’re in for another close election. And to make matters worse: we just learned my opponent raised thousands of dollars last quarter from liberal activists outside North Carolina.

Now, the good news: Because so many people across North Carolina have contributed to our campaign, we still have a slight fundraising advantage. But most importantly: we have a message that resonates with voters across the 9th District.

If we raise enough funds to get that message to voters over the coming weeks, we’ll win.

But as you probably know, the cost of running campaigns has skyrocketed. The Presidential and US Senate races have driven up the cost of advertising and organizing in North Carolina, and I still need to raise several hundred thousand more dollars to get our message to the right voters.

If you can, please consider donating whatever you can to help.
