It's Deborah.
Last week, Senate Republicans blocked an attempt to extend critical ACA subsidies, and Speaker Mike Johnson has now said there will not be a vote in the House to extend them.
This means the subsidies are set to expire at the end of the year, which will result in significantly higher healthcare costs for millions of Americans.
Let me be clear: this was a deliberate choice.
After years of attempting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, they have now taken concrete action to strip away the affordability of healthcare for families right here in North Carolina.
The consequences will be devastating for millions of Americans who depend on these subsidies to keep their families insured and healthy.
My position is unwavering: I will keep fighting to extend these subsidies and protect our care.
I will always fight for the families of North Carolina, but I can’t win this fight alone. Will you chip in $10 right now to help me protect healthcare for millions of Americans and hold Republicans accountable for this attack?

In 2020, Deborah became the first Democrat in over a decade to be elected to represent North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district. In her first term, eleven pieces of legislation she introduced were signed into law. These measures increased funding for sexual assault nurse examiners, enhanced judicial ethics and transparency, and bolstered North Carolina’s offshore wind energy potential. Deborah needs your support to continue the fight for fairness, equality, and progress. Let’s do this together.
