Dear Friend,
I’m steaming mad because a brave police officer has been indicted for the “crime” of protecting his community and saving another officer’s life.
Police Officer Salvatore Oldrati now faces years in prison for doing EXACTLY what he was trained—and swore—to do.
And why?
Because a politically motivated Attorney General wants a trophy — and he thinks Salvatore’s career, his honor, and his family’s future will look good mounted on his wall.
Even worse, Salvatore’s wife and children are now living through a nightmare, terrified of what these outrageous charges could mean for their future.
Don’t let a corrupt, anti-cop prosecutor destroy Officer Oldrati and his family!
As a former Sheriff who spent my entire career mentoring young officers, I can’t stomach watching a GOOD cop get railroaded for doing his job — and saving lives.
Officer Salvatore Oldrati has been an exemplary officer from the moment he put on the badge.
He’s earned Meritorious Service, two Life Saving Awards, three Exemplary Performance Awards, and he was honored as Officer of the Year not once — but twice.
He is exactly the kind of officer any community would be blessed to have.
But here’s what threatens to destroy his life and career:
In the early morning hours of September 14, 2021, Mantua Township Police responded to a frantic 911 call about a burglary in progress — with one suspect reportedly armed with a handgun.
Corporal Robert Layton arrived first and was immediately confronted by a man pointing a firearm directly at him.
Corporal Layton gave loud, clear commands — commands captured on audio — ordering the armed man to DROP HIS WEAPON.
He didn’t.
Moments later, Officer Salvatore Oldrati arrived… and the same armed man turned his gun toward him.
At that instant, Salvatore had one split second to decide:
Protect his own life.
Protect Corporal Layton’s life.
Protect the innocent.
He acted exactly as his training demanded — and stopped the threat.
A .45-caliber handgun was found next to the suspect.
And after the shooting, Salvatore immediately began life-saving measures to try to save the man who had just pointed a gun at him.
A full investigation followed — by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and the State Police Shooting Response Team.
They reviewed everything.
And they cleared him.
In October 2021, Officer Oldrati was found to have acted lawfully, justifiably, and fully in line with policy.
He returned to duty, was promoted, and later honored again as Officer of the Year.
Case closed… right?
WRONG.
Because nearly two years later, after he was already back on patrol, already proven innocent, already decorated again…
…the Attorney General’s office manipulated a grand jury, withheld exculpatory evidence, and indicted Officer Oldrati for Second Degree Reckless Manslaughter.
It is outrageous. It is political. And it is evil.
Now Salvatore’s career, his freedom, and his ability to provide for his family are hanging by a thread — all because a headline-chasing prosecutor wants to punish a GOOD cop.
His trial is expected to start next yearI hope you’re as shocked and furious as I am at this heinous mistreatment — and that you’ll join Officer Oldrati’s legal defense TODAY.
DONATE NOW TO SALVATORE’S LEGAL DEFENSE
Police officers don’t join the force to get rich.
They join to serve, to protect, and — like Salvatore — to put their lives on the line for others.
But that means they do NOT have the financial resources to fight politically motivated prosecutions like this.
That’s where you and the National Center for Police Defense come in.
You may know NCPD as the group that helped Tulsa’s Officer Betty Shelby… New York’s Anthony Federico and Hugh Barry Jr.… Michigan’s Mark Bessner… and ME.
I am walking proof that the NCPD works.
They stood by me when a corrupt prosecutor tried to destroy my life.
And today, NCPD is standing by Officer Oldrati — but we NEED your help.
Please make an emergency gift of $10, $15, $20, $25, or more right now.
Every day, officers like Salvatore go into the field prepared to lay down their lives for people they’ve never met.
And they do it for embarrassingly low pay.
That means Salvatore’s legal defense — for a trial expected to stretch into next year — will drain every dime of his savings and devastate his family.
My friend, we cannot serve on the jury to acquit him.
But we CAN help ensure that he is not sent to prison because a political prosecutor wants to make an example out of an innocent cop.
Officer Oldrati needs immediate help.
Please don’t let him down.
Support a TRUE hero by clicking this link and donating $10, $15, $25, $50, $100, or more right now.
Officer Salvatore Oldrati, his wife, and his children are counting on you.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (ret.)
