Rural America isn't what the pundit class thinks it is, John.

It's not just farms and small towns; it's hospitals, factories, and small businesses that rely on families who work hard and do right by their neighbors.

Right now, the Trump administration's policies are putting all of that at risk — closing rural hospitals, making healthcare less accessible, and making it harder for families to get ahead. But here's the thing: With Trump attacking rural America, Democrats can win here.

Andy's done it three times in Kentucky — a state Donald Trump carried by 30 points. The reason he won is simple: he focused on the issues that actually matter in people's lives. That's exactly what every leader in our government should be doing. That means prioritizing jobs that pay enough to support a family, keeping rural hospitals open and running so that people can go to the doctor or women can give birth without driving hours each way, funding infrastructure projects that connect communities, and investing in public schools that give kids opportunities and hold our rural communities together.

In a conversation with The New Republic earlier this month, Andy laid out the playbook for Dems to win in rural America: we have to show up in these communities. We have to deliver results, not just promises. We have to cut through the chaos and meet people where they are, with solutions that actually make life better. Because rural families don't have time to wait, they need help now.

"…I think we have to be intentional [about] where we can be to locate new jobs in rural Kentucky and in rural America, and I see a greater hunger for it out of the private sector than at any point in my lifetime.

We landed the Pratt paper mill, 300-plus new jobs at $40 an hour outside of Henderson, Kentucky, a former coal mining town ..."
