I want to be honest with you.
We’re heading into the end of the year, the end of the month, and the end of the quarter — and right now, we’re behind on our fundraising goal.
That’s not because people don’t believe in Summer Lee. It’s not because the movement isn’t strong. And it’s definitely not because the stakes aren’t high.
The truth is simpler — and harder.
Black women candidates raise, on average, only one-third of what white candidates raise. That’s not a talking point either. That’s the reality of running for office in this country.
And that reality means we have to work triple time just to make sure Summer starts her election year where she deserves to be: strong, prepared, and fully backed by the people who put her here.
Right now, outside groups with millions of dollars are paying very close attention to this race. AIPAC has already started testing the waters in Summer’s district, actively looking for someone to run against her in the Democratic primary. On top of that, she already has a primary opponent.
They’re not waiting around. And we can’t either.
If we miss this end-of-year, end-of-quarter goal — right before an election year — it sends exactly the wrong message. It tells them we’re slipping. And they will absolutely take advantage of that.
We are not going to sit on our hands while wealthy special interests line up their checkbooks. We’re getting ready for everything…including the kitchen sink.
Summer has stayed undefeated because she fights for working people, and because people like you show up when it matters most.
This isn’t about matching their millions dollar for dollar, we know that’s not how this works. It’s about showing strength, momentum, and community. It’s about proving that when they come for one of us, we come back together even stronger.
Every dollar helps us stay ready. Every contribution says we’re not backing down. And every act of support helps keep Summer Lee fighting for the people — not the powerful.
