Dear Friend
This past Saturday, I joined the Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for their HIV/AIDS Symposium. This was a gathering that brought together advocates, medical experts, caregivers, and neighbors who refuse to let stigma or silence keep our community unsafe.
The stories I heard were raw. Real. Courageous.
Parents who lost loved ones. Young people navigating new diagnoses. Providers who work every day in clinics that are underfunded, understaffed, and overwhelmed.
And one message kept coming up again and again: Shelby County needs leadership that treats public health as public safety.
We need leadership that understands ZIP codes shouldn’t determine life expectancy.
We need leadership that believes in free, accessible HIV testing , not just during special events but year-round.
We need leadership that invests in prevention just as much as treatment.
I’m running for Shelby County Mayor because I believe every one of us deserves to live in a community where health care is accessible, stigma-free, and rooted in dignity. And I believe we can make that a reality.
But building a healthier county, one that protects every neighbor, requires a grassroots movement powered by people like you.
