Here is a U.S. Senator making a taxpayer-funded salary of $175,000 per year with the best healthcare coverage in the entire country (also taxpayer-funded) calling healthcare for working people a “disaster” that is like “lighting taxpayer money on fire”:

You’d be forgiven for having no idea who this hypocrite is. Her name is Ashley Moody and she is the interim, unelected GOP Senator from Florida who runs her mouth on Fox regularly.

Moody represents a state that is suffering badly under Trump right now, from Medicaid cuts to gutting both FEMA and the National Weather Service. And the damage is set to get astronomically worse: Florida will be the hardest hit state in the nation when Republicans let ACA subsidies lapse at the end of this year. 

Over 4.7 million people in Florida are on an ACA plan—and at least 1.5 million would immediately lose their insurance coverage while everyone else would see increasing rates skyrocket by over 132%.

It is a fact that Democrats have no path to retaking control of the Senate this election without fighting to defeat Ashley Moody. That’s why we are doing this work right now: to stop Trump and deliver the Senate to Democrats this midterm.
