As 2025 draws to a close, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) remains grateful for another year of transformational gains for the wild things, wild places, and people of Texas—lasting change made possible by the generous support of thousands of Texans like you who serve as the inspiration for our continued work in 2026.

Together, with your support and the unwavering commitment of our conservation partners on the ground, TPWF continues to forge lasting change in every corner of our state, including:

*"To our north"**…* Putting the final touches on visitor facilities at Palo Pinto Mountains State Park. With nearly 5,000 acres of rolling hills and stunning vistas surrounding the 90-acre Tucker Lake, this spectacular untouched gem will soon become the newest state park in North Texas in more than a generation.

*"To our south"**…* Reducing harvest pressure of wild Texas oyster reefs—vital to healthy coastal ecosystems—through TPWF’s new S. Reed Morian Oyster Buyback Program, which yielded a 20 percent reduction in existing commercial oyster fishing licenses. 

*"To our east"**…* Supporting the acquisition of the brand-new Trinity River Wildlife Management Area. Spanning approximately 6,900 acres along the Trinity River in Anderson County, this new wild place will be home to restored wetlands, prairies, and bottomland forests that serve as a haven for waterfowl, migratory birds, and many other species.

*"To our west"**…* Partnering with Borderlands Research Institute, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the greater Texas Desert Bighorn Sheep Coalition to support ongoing bighorn restoration efforts, including a recent capture-and-collar event of 136 bighorns, aoudad, and mule deer at Elephant Mountain and Black Gap Wildlife Management Areas to assess the health and better understand interactions between herds.

*"And everywhere in between…"* TPWF is working to ensure the long-term health of Texas rivers; helping to restore vital wildlife habitat; expanding and enhancing Texas State Parks; and fueling science-based efforts that have already resulted in improved populations of pronghorn, quail, redfish, monarch butterflies, and many other species.

For every acre conserved and every species supported, there are countless more waiting in the wings, and so our work continues.
