Hi John,
I hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying this holiday season. It’s been a very busy and exciting month — one that’s reminded me just how much potential our communities have when we work together.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep serving you in Raleigh and here at home, and I’m proud of the advancements we’re making to strengthen our local economy, support our schools, and create opportunities for working families.
As always, my door is open. If there’s ever anything I can do to help you or your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
At your service,
Ben

NHRA NATIONALS COMING TO THE ROCK!
I was thrilled to join community leaders, racing fans, and the NHRA at Rockingham Dragway to announce that the NHRA Nationals are coming to “The Rock” September 25-27, 2026!
This is an incredible win for our community, bringing national attention, tourism, and economic growth to our region. A huge “thank you” to everyone who helped make this happen: Senator Dave Craven, the City of Rockingham, the Cole Foundation, and the Richmond County Tourism Development Authority.
I’m proud to see our community continue to grow as a destination for motorsports, entertainment, and family fun. Exciting things are ahead for our region, and we can’t wait to welcome fans from across the country back to The Rock!

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING IN ROCKINGHAM
Thank you to the City of Rockingham for inviting me to take part in this year’s Christmas tree lighting. The real highlight was seeing so many friends and families come out and bring the holiday cheer. It’s moments like these that remind us what community is all about.

GRANDSTAND REPAIRS COMPLETED AT THE ROCK
I’m proud to have helped secure funding that made critical repairs to the Rockingham Dragway grandstands — in time for the 2026 NHRA Nationals. 🏁🏎️💨
More improvements are on the way, and I can’t wait to see fans from Richmond County, Moore County, and across the region back at The Rock. Great news for our local economy!

CHAMPIONING PRO-JOBS POLICIES
I’m humbled to be named a 2025 Jobs Champion by the North Carolina Chamber. Supporting manufacturing, protecting our workforce, and keeping rural North Carolina competitive are at the heart of what I fight for in Raleigh each and every day we’re in session. I’m grateful for the chance to keep standing up for the people and industries that make our communities strong.

STATE FUNDING FOR NEW LJ BELL ELEMENTARY
I’m proud to announce $42 million in state funding coming to Richmond County Schools — to fully replace LJ Bell Elementary.
This investment is part of our continued commitment to improving education infrastructure in rural communities — ensuring students have the opportunity to learn in a safe and healthy environment.
Richmond County families deserve nothing less!

NC RELEASES 2026 COUNTY TIER DESIGNATIONS
North Carolina’s new 2026 county tier rankings are out — and once again they highlight why our economic development system needs reform.
I represent both Richmond County (Tier 1) and Moore County (Tier 3). These communities sit side-by-side, yet their needs couldn’t be more different. The current 40-40-20 tier formula doesn’t capture the real challenges facing many rural pockets across our state — and too often leaves them behind.
I’ll continue fighting for a fairer, updated approach that looks beyond county lines and truly reflects the economic reality on the ground.
