Dear John,
We are at a crucial juncture for our environment, our democracy, and our communities. It feels like we keep saying that, but it’s because the stakes keep rising; and now we have to fight for rights we never dreamed we’d have to protect. [[link removed]]
But what can we do about it? A lot, actually.
This year your support has helped increase voter registration, education, and turnout. It has helped us deliver vital aid and resources to underserved communities in the wake of climate disasters like Hurricane Helene. Additionally, your voice and support helped pressure Senator Thom Tillis to vote against Trump’s awful budget bill. While it was not the deciding vote or issue, we showed that North Carolina won’t bend the knee to every whim of the President.
But we aren’t stopping there. In 2026, your support will help us: [[link removed]]
* Continue to amp up our community organizing and advocacy,
* Keep the pressure on lawmakers and decision makers to protect our air and water
* Pursue a thorough, achievable plan to deliver more positions of power to environmental and pro-democracy champions in the 2026 elections
* Coordinate with national LCV and other state league affiliates to fight for our environment and democracy at the federal level
All of this work is made possible because of you, our dedicated members. That’s what keeps me going.
As we wrap up a milestone year, I hope you will consider making a meaningful donation. [[link removed]] Your generosity will help us deliver wins in 2026 that will protect people’s health, their livelihoods, their futures – and our environment.
I hope you will continue to join me in the fight. Together, we can make a difference.

P.S. – The recent elections showed what we can do when we stand together for the country we want – courts that support democracy and elected officials who will stand up to greedy utilities to lower costs. Please support our fight to ensure North Carolina moves forward next November. [[link removed]] Thank you!
