Dear Friend,
You don’t know me yet. And I don’t know you.
But we are connected by something. We’re both curious about the Green Party of Canada and what genuine hope in Canadian politics might look like.
And today, December 16th, 2025, I did something I’ve never done before.
I made my first-ever political donation. It was to the Green Party of Canada.

Here is my story.
I’m 30 years old. I grew up in Canada as a child of immigrants from India in the early 2000s.
Politics wasn’t something my family talked about.
We talked about school, helping neighbours, working hard, cost-effective family road-trips in the summers, sharing food, and keeping nature clean because it belonged to all of us. We learned to apologize when we were wrong. We learned to tell the truth and cooperate with each other no matter how different our opinions were. We learned that science, climate change, was real, and that you treat people the way you want to be treated. The “Golden Rule”.
Somewhere inside me, that childhood sense of responsibility never went away.
And now, with the daily work-life routine as an adult, I worry about the same things you probably do.
Clean air. Safe drinking water. A future where food is affordable to every generation across Canada. A home you can keep or afford to live in and grow a family. A community that still feels like a caring community. A cooperative democracy you can trust. A planet that can still sustain our lives, our families, future generations, and the people we love.
Those worries, strangely, are what led me here.
Because my values, our values, are shared Green values.
They are why I joined the Green Party of Canada and today, they are why I donated. Because donating is not just about money, it’s about choosing hope when hope feels fragile – and the additional year-end tax receipt doesn’t hurt.
Like me, if you have never given before, or you have “lapsed” in your giving, may I personally ask you to consider donating to the Green Party of Canada before December 31, 2025 to power our 2026 preparedness?
Our 2025 goal is to raise $1,000,000 in December. In 2024 last December, we raised $719,000. Your gift today will lay the foundation for a strong 2026 year for the Green Party of Canada:
- Strengthening party preparedness to elect more Green MPs across Canada.
- Supporting our work on fair taxation, including a wealth tax.
- Advancing affordable housing solutions, and a climate-safe future.
- Preparing for early by-elections and a party leadership race in 2026.
- Expanding our capacity to respond to fast-moving political events.
- Reaching more Canadians with a message rooted in honesty and hope.
No amount is too small. If everyone receiving this email contributes just $100, we’ll reach our goal. It’s that simple. And if you’re able to give more, December is the moment it matters most. Federal law limits how much any individual can donate to a political party. In 2025, that limit is $1,750. Only individual Canadians - never corporations, unions, or foundations - can fund political work.
