On December 11, 140 members of the House of Representatives voted to advance Congressman Al Green’s articles of impeachment against President Trump. Your representative did not.

As Congressman Green’s articles state, Trump has abused his power and incited violence in calling for the execution of Members of Congress and in threatening federal judges. Impeachable in any context, Trump is wholly aware that his actions place these officials’ lives at risk, encourage violence by his followers, and undermine our democracy, which cannot survive where dissent is punishable by death.

The Framers designed the Impeachment Clause for this very moment – to address a corrupt executive who tramples on the Constitution and the rule of law. If we are to defend our democracy, Congress must fulfill its duty and hold Trump accountable through impeachment and removal.
