For the last few months, we’ve watched how our frontline workers have held our
nation together. Our doctors, nurses, firefighters, paramedics, and police
officers have been the first ones to answer the call to help, sacrificing their
health and wellbeing, day in and day out. Law enforcement officers just trying
to keep the peace have sometimes been attacked by rioters.

 

But what does the Radical-Left want to do in response to these unacceptable
acts?

 

They want to defund them. 

 

They want to DISMANTLE the police.

 

To be clear, police brutality against communities of color is wrong and should
never happen again. I have consistently spoken out against it. The police
officers I know agree and support responsible reforms in police practices and
training methods. But the radical Far-Left is now trying to DEFUND our police
departments.   

 

Just weeks ago, my colleagues and I in the Senate worked tirelessly to put
together a responsible police reform bill, but the Far-Left chose to block the
Senate from even having a conversation or debate about this. 

 

The Far-Left chose partisanship over working across the aisle to agree on
common sense legislation that would provide better training, increased
transparency, and stronger accountability for our police departments. 

 

John, I need you to understand how extreme this is: The Far-Left Radical Mob
wants to DEFUND our police departments around the nation. 

 

We must come together and STOP the Radical-Left in their tracks – immediately.
