In a lot of ways, my journey as Autism Speaks’ President and CEO has mirrored my journey as a father. I didn’t think I’d end up working at a non-profit, and I certainly didn’t anticipate my son’s diagnosis. But, looking back, I am so deeply grateful for these unexpected gifts.

In both cases, I faced a steep learning curve that forced me to confront just how much I didn’t know. What that taught me is that it’s okay to not have all the answers—as long as you’re willing to listen, do the work, and keep growing.
