Fundraising results from the second quarter are in, and I'm pleased to share that we hit our quarterly goal! What's important to note is how we did it. The vast majority of our contributions came in from individual donors like you. Unlike my opponent, I won't take a cent from corporate PACs.
We're in a strong position thanks to you, but this is still poised to be one of the most competitive House races in the country. Here’s what I mean by that:
- It was just last cycle that CA-49 was considered a GOP stronghold. The district remains roughly even in voter registration.
- My opponent is a Trump acolyte and self-funder who can instantly dump millions into his campaign coffers if he gets desperate. We need a firewall against that.
- We're still listed as one of the Republicans' top offensive targets in 2020. We must take absolutely nothing for granted.
