The threshold is not just a moment of change - it is a portal that crosses death and birth - disorienting, potent, vulnerable, and alive with possibility.
Many cultures created rites of passage to accompany these transitions. But rites of passage were never meant to be experienced alone - becoming is a communal act.
The upcoming EMERGE New Year's Home Retreat is rooted in practice and resourced in community because we understand that:
- We become who we are through others. Bell hooks reminds us that healing rarely happens in isolation. When transformation is witnessed in community, it becomes real.
- The community carries what the individual cannot. Transitions evoke grief, rage, longing and more. Collective ritual expands our capacity to feel and allows us to share the spiritual weight of our reckoning.
- Collective healing is reparative and re-membering. Through shared practice we disrupt the myth of separation and remember that we are not along in our suffering and we are not alone in our hope.
- Witnessing others transforms the witness. We reproduce change through each other, expanding our capacity for more - more courage, more creativity, more possibility for all.
The upcoming New Year's Home Retreat is a container, a community of practice and a coven for reflection, ritual, release and reclaiming. Join us!
