As you may have heard by now, I ended my campaign for Senate earlier last week because Democrats need to be united.

I didn't make this decision lightly. We built a powerful grassroots movement, but the Senate primary was heading straight toward a bruising, costly runoff – and that would divide us in a way that gives power to MAGA all the way through 2032.

Texas can't afford that. And neither can our democracy.

So I'm stepping up where I believe I can make the biggest impact right now: running to represent the community where I grew up, where Aly and I are raising our boys, and where Republicans racially gerrymandered the district in an effort to silence voices and rig our elections and our economy.

But switching races means entering a completely different ball game – one with new challenges and an even greater need to pick up speed now that we've changed direction.
