Last week, Senate Republicans blocked a straightforward extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies – subsidies that keep premiums affordable for more than 22 million Americans. Then they offered a hollow alternative: higher deductibles, skimpier plans, and a shrug that basically says good luck when you get sick.
This isn’t abstract. This is grocery money. Rent money. Prescription money.
