Despite its name, this bill makes one thing clear: it strips environmental protections and gives mining companies complete control over lands that belong to Tribes and the public. Federal agencies would be powerless to stop mining—even when it causes severe, irreversible harm. For the Western Shoshone Tribe, this means unceded treaty lands could be given away with no recourse. In California, it could open Conglomerate Mesa to more extensive mining, permanently damaging sacred sites and Joshua Tree habitat. Please contact your Representative today. Tell them to vote NO on H.R. 1366, the Mining Regulatory Clarity Act. Tribal lands, cultural sites, wildlife habitat, and public resources are a shared trust we’re obligated to protect—not to give away to mining executives chasing billions in bonuses, vacation homes, and yachts. Help Stop H.R. 1366 now.
