This movement is ready for what’s next

Hi John,

We watched historic environmental regulations and climate investments rolled back. We saw our neighbors being abducted off the streets. We saw the military deployed on U.S. soil. Students’ rights were attacked, again and again.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges we face, but it’s impossible to ignore what this movement has accomplished in response.

What I keep coming back to is how this movement showed up. Even in the face of all this, you and this movement proved what’s possible when we organize. When Donald Trump was elected last November, we didn’t stop. We didn’t wait. We organized.

In the week after the election, students across the country walked out of their classes, sending a clear message that we would not accept a future stolen from us. From that moment on, Sunrise members have been everywhere — in the streets, on campuses, inside the halls of power — refusing to let this administration dismantle our future.

Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve done together:

This is what it looks like when young people refuse to accept a future written by fossil fuel executives and corrupt politicians.

They want us exhausted. They want us scared. They want us to believe nothing we do matters. But this year proved the opposite.

Because of you, we’re ending the year stronger, bolder, and more determined than ever. But 2026 is going to demand even more from all of us. We need to organize more students, challenge more corrupt politicians, fight harder for a livable future, and make sure young people’s voices are impossible to ignore.

Will you make a year-end contribution to Sunrise today? Every dollar helps fuel our actions, grow our movement, and give young people the tools to fight for a livable future.

Thank you for standing up, taking action, and reminding the world that young people will not sit by quietly
