You often hear from us regarding our political work. We are preparing for the upcoming election cycle and thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us elect reasonable candidates on the federal side. However, the reason I’m reaching out today is to tell you about the education work of our sister organization, the 501c3 nonprofit Build Alaska’s Future Education Fund (BAFEF).

In Alaska, strong local government and informed civic participation strengthen our communities, and when Alaska is strong, the rest of the nation grows stronger as well. ClerkStart remains a centerpiece of BAFEF's education and storytelling efforts, producing five-minute video spotlights that illuminate the vital roles clerks and local government professionals play in safeguarding democracy across more than 230 communities. These stories advance nonpartisan civic education, workforce development, and outreach designed to strengthen governance and public trust. 

The work of BAFEF complements our efforts and shares a mission to educate and empower communities beyond Alaska. This is a powerful opportunity to support democracy-building initiatives that can be adapted nationwide.

We’re asking supporters who have joined us before to consider renewing your support to sustain ClerkStart, education programs, and ongoing social mission work. Your gifts to the 501(c)(3) fund tax-deductible education and ClerkStart programming, and gifts to our 501(c)(4) expand our capacity for outreach and coalition-building and can include corporate or personal contributions consistent with applicable law.

Through your generosity, you can help amplify ClerkStart stories that humanize local government and illuminate the path to civic participation, expand civic education and engagement initiatives that promote transparency, participation, and public trust, and contribute to a stronger, more informed electorate prepared to participate in elections with confidence and responsibility.
