John,

The Endangered Species Act is the world's most successful conservation law, and it's under attack again. The Trump administration is preparing to finalize four new rules that would gut the Act and drive imperiled plants and animals closer to extinction.

The proposed changes to the Act will give industry a pass to bulldoze, drill, and destroy precious critical habitat. They'll also delay protection decisions, forcing species that aren't yet protected — like California spotted owls — to wait longer for lifesaving federal safeguards. And they'll likely ensure that some species never get safeguards at all.

Your energy can make a difference in this moment.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, join the Center, Frostpaw the polar bear, and other conservation groups for an in-person rally urging the administration to withdraw these rules and stop the extinction plan before it's too late.

What: Rally and press conference with members of Congress opposing the administration's extinction plan
When: Thursday, Dec. 18, 8:30 a.m.
Where: Outside the U.S. Department of the Interior’s C St. Entrance, 1849 C St. NW, Washington, DC 20240

Sincerely,
The Center for Biological Diversity team
