Friend,

COVID-19 has laid bare the urgent need to decarcerate our jails and prisons, decriminalize all drugs, and prioritize the health and safety of people who use drugs.

Our series of online discussions has explored how COVID-19 has magnified the war on drugs as a public health crisis and how we can make the most of this critical moment.

Please RSVP to join us for the sixth conversation “COVID-19: New Opportunities to Explore Safe Supply and the Legal Regulation of Drugs” which will take place over Zoom this Thursday, July 23 from 2-4pm ET.

Because of disruptions to the drug supply and the need to purchase and use drugs in settings where it may be difficult to protect themselves and others from risk of infection, COVID-19 presents unique challenges for people who use drugs. These challenges have reignited conversations about creating safe and legal access to drugs.

Join us as advocates and experts discuss how COVID has impacted access to drugs and associated risks, and in so doing, has provided an opportunity to envision how things could look differently under a system of legal regulation. Register here to join the conversation this Thursday.

And please mark your calendars and register for the final discussion of the series:

Drug War Policing & Surveillance: Aug 6, 2-4pm ET

I hope you can join us for these critical conversations.

  Sincerely,

Jules Netherland
