Chugwater Energy Center, LLC and Chugwater Wind, LLC filed an application for a permit to construct and operate a facility consisting of approximately 300 megawatts (MW) of wind energy, 150 MW of solar energy and a 150 MW four-hour duration (600 megawatt-hour) Battery Energy Storage System. The Project will be east of Chugwater and I-25 on private and state land located in Platte County, Wyoming. The site will be accessed via Slater Road (WY 314), Lone Tree Road (Hwy 313) or East Bear Creek Road/Windmill Road (CR 245).

Notice of Opportunity to Observe the Continued Permit Hearing
Notice is hereby given that the Wyoming Industrial Siting Council will continue the contested case hearing on the application for a permit for the Chugwater Energy Project, beginning at 8:00 AM on December 29, 2025, at the Chugwater Community Center, 311 2nd Street, Chugwater, WY 82210. The Council will continue to consider the applicant’s request for a permit pursuant to the provisions of the Industrial Development Information and Siting Act (W.S. 35-12-101 et. seq.) and the rules and regulations adopted thereunder.
Persons desiring to make a limited appearance statement, may submit a written statement as provided by W. S. 35-12-111(c). Limited appearance statements may be sent as hard copies via USPS to Department of Environmental Quality Industrial Siting Division, 200 West 17th Street, 4th Floor, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82002 or electronically via email to [email protected]. Limited appearance statements must be received by the Division no later than 5:00 PM on December 24, 2025 or handed to the presiding officer at the permit hearing on December 29, 2025.
