Everywhere I travel across Wisconsin, I hear the same story.

John,

I hear it everywhere I go: families are frustrated and angry about rising utility bills.

ABC: Energy bills in US have increased 13% since Trump took office, new report finds

A big reason is the Trump administration's reckless decision to cancel and block renewable energy projects that were already in motion. These weren't theoretical plans — they were real wind and solar projects that would have delivered lower-cost, more stable energy to Wisconsin families.

When those projects get scrapped, utilities are forced to rely more on older, volatile energy sources. That means higher fuel costs, more price swings, and more risk — and guess who ends up paying for it? We do.

Renewable energy helps keep costs predictable and shields families from the ups and downs of fossil fuel markets. Canceling these projects hands that stability away and leaves working families exposed to higher bills month after month.

This didn't happen by accident. It's the result of political choices by Donald Trump that favor special interests and corporate lobbyists over Wisconsin families, and it's costing people real money at the kitchen table.

As Lieutenant Governor, I'll always fight for energy policies that lower costs, strengthen our communities, and put Wisconsin families first. We deserve leadership that plans for the future — not policies that drive up costs and leave families paying the price.

More soon,

Sarah
