Defending Education sued the Olentangy Local School District in Ohio for violating students’ First Amendment rights.

The district was compelling students to use “preferred pronouns” to affirm the gender identity of their peers – even if doing so would be contrary to their deeply held beliefs.

If students failed to comply with this policy, they faced punishment ranging from “no-contact orders” to suspension or expulsion.

I’m thrilled to share that Defending Education secured this victory, framing out the most expansive defense of student First Amendment Protections since the 1960s.

But our work is far from finished.

Defending Education is working to restore schools at all levels from activists imposing harmful agendas so that students and parents can exercise their First Amendment rights.
