We Need Your Help: Partnering to Reduce Contraband
TDCJ Volunteers,
We're facing a serious problem: dangerous drugs and contraband are often getting into our facilities through the mail.
To keep staff and inmates safe, TDCJ is requesting your assistance in reducing the amount of incoming mail. Specifically, if volunteer groups can send less physical mail and fewer materials, our mailroom staff can focus their searches on the highest-risk mail. This will drastically cut down on the ways contraband can enter our facilities.
While cutting back on physical mail might seem restrictive, we see it as a huge chance to make your work safer, easier and more effective. We strongly urge your organization to move your content and communication to the Edovo App on the inmate tablets.
This digital platform offers major benefits:
- You can reach more inmates, immediately, connecting with most of the population who have a tablet.
- You can save money by eliminating printing and postage costs, as well as reducing administrative costs.
- The app lets you create interactive courses to increase engagement.
- You get access to data and reports that show the number of inmates engaging with your programs and how effective they are.
By moving to Edovo, you are helping us keep the population safe and modernize the way we support the incarcerated population.
Thank you again for your partnership and understanding as we work together to keep our facilities safe.
