Dear Friend, 

Now that we're in December, this is typically the "calm before the storm" -- the quiet before what will likely be raucous legislative sessions starting in January across our 13 states.  

But there's nothing calm about what our State Freedom Caucuses are doing right now.

Let's get into it.

GEORGIA

One of the strengths of having a nationwide network of more than 170 state freedom caucus members is that they form our natural “Farm Team.” When a congressional seat opens up, these are the leaders we look to first—people who can either upgrade a district or keep it in solid conservative hands.

This week offered a perfect illustration. Georgia Freedom Caucus Vice Chairman Colton Moore announced he is running for Congress to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is resigning early next year.

Colton has an impeccable voting record. He stands firmly against budget-busting spending bills and is one of the most outspoken defenders of conservatism and freedom in the state.

The Atlanta Swamp despises him for it.

You may remember that he was literally arrested last year after attempting to carry out his constitutional duty by attending the Governor’s State of the State address. He also pushed his colleagues in the State Senate to call a special session to investigate Fani Willis for her lawfare campaign against President Trump—an effort the Senate refused to join, despite Colton ultimately being proven right about Willis’s intentions.

P.S. Colton isn’t the only member of our “Farm Team” stepping up.

• State Senator Blake Miguez, Louisiana state senator and member of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, is running for U.S. Senate against RINO Bill Cassidy.

• State Rep. Alex Kolodin, a member of the Arizona Freedom Caucus, is running for Secretary of State.

ILLINOIS

In 2023, Illinois passed a law - believe it or not - that would allow non-citizens to become law enforcement officers.  Every single Republican, except for the Illinois Freedom Caucus and one other, voted for this ridiculous measure.

Now it's coming back to haunt the GOP, and the Illinois Freedom Caucus is making sure the voters know that Republicans sided with Governor JB Pritzker and the Democrats.

According to the Daily Signal:

On Oct. 15, ICE arrested Radule Bojovic, an alleged “illegal alien from Montenegro who was recently sworn in as a police officer in the Chicago suburb of Hanover Park.” 

The Department of Homeland Security alleged that “Bojovic overstayed a B2 tourist visa that required him to depart the U.S. on March 31, 2015. Over a decade later, he was still illegally in the U.S.”

Bojovic has since been released on bond and is back to work as a police officer!

Republicans outside the Freedom Caucus “aren’t going to talk about it because they voted for it,” [Illinois Freedom Caucus Chairman State Rep. Chris] Miller told The Daily Signal. “I mean, this is embarrassing for the Republican Party here in the state of Illinois, and it’s just another example of the lack of leadership we have at the core of the Illinois Republican Party, and particularly in the House of Representatives.”

Miller continued, “It’s a disaster, and these guys can’t talk about it because they’re too proud to admit that they made a bad vote and made a mistake, and so they just want this to go away, and I doubt that they’re all that happy that it’s getting the exposure that it is.”

QUICK HITS

After an illegal Afghani killed one National Guard member and seriously injured another one, the Wyoming Freedom Caucus is reminding voters that RINO State Rep. Landon Brown wanted to invite all unvetted Afghanis to resettle in Wyoming.

You may recall the South Carolina Freedom Caucus successfully getting Clemson University professors fired for breaking the school's code of conduct  after saying vile things about Charlie Kirk in the wake of his assassination.  Clemson's president has now resigned and the SC Freedom Caucus is calling on the school to be smart about hiring his replacement.  SCFC Vice-Chair State Rep. April Cromer says it's time to choose a direction that "puts students, families, and merit first again."

The Oklahoma Freedom Caucus is going to force the Legislature to consider defunding Oklahoma University if the school continues to protect professors who are promoting the same radical woke nonsense that was happening at Clemson.  Read their statement here.
