Friend,

This week, I introduced the SNAP Data Transparency and Oversight Act: a bill that would finally force states to provide beneficiary-level Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) data to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) when asked… or lose federal funding. I didn’t do this lightly. I did it because the stakes are massive.

Here’s the truth:

Minnesota refused to provide the USDA the basic data needed to prevent fraud. Instead of cooperating with oversight, the Walz administration took legal action to block federal review.

USDA officials have already uncovered stunning abuse in the states that have complied:

  • 186,000 dead participants still receiving benefits
  • 500,000 individuals receiving benefits twice
  • Transactions exceeding $10,000
  • Nearly half a million questionable eligibility cases under scrutiny

Meanwhile, Minnesota, a state that spent over $850 million in federal taxpayer dollars on SNAP last year alone, won’t turn over the data that would reveal exactly how much fraud is occurring here at home.

And this comes on the heels of more than $1 billion stolen across multiple fraud schemes in our state. Minnesotans are tired of the excuses. They want accountability. They want transparency. And they deserve a government that safeguards their tax dollars instead of looking the other way.

That’s why I’m leading this fight.

But let me be honest with you: every time we push for oversight and integrity, the Left attacks us. They’d rather pretend the system works perfectly than admit fraud and mismanagement have become rampant under their watch.

Your support is what allows me to stand firm.

If you believe taxpayers deserve answers and that Minnesota should not be a sanctuary for fraud, I need you with me.

Please chip in today to help me continue fighting for transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of your hard-earned money.

Thanks for standing with me.
