As a member of Congress and as Secretary of the Interior, she fought for working families – helping small businesses open their doors, expanding clean-energy job opportunities, and delivering essential water and infrastructure projects to rural communities.

Our departments partnered to expand transportation access on public lands. Thanks in part to her leadership, we secured major investments like the clean-energy shuttle fleet at the Grand Canyon – an example of the results that can come from the forward-looking, practical approach she brings to her work.

And Deb’s leadership is shaped by lived experience. She knows what it means to navigate affordability challenges, to raise a child as a single mother, to rely on public programs like food stamps and WIC, and to stitch together multiple jobs – including running a small business – to make ends meet. Her understanding of what families are up against is not theoretical. It’s personal. And that’s exactly the kind of perspective that makes for an effective governor.

New Mexico deserves a governor who will deliver for working families from day one. But the governorship has flipped parties every eight years, and national Republicans see this as their next opportunity to install another Trump-aligned governor. The stakes are not small.
