When asked if he’d accept the results of November’s election, Trump responded, “I’ll have to see. I’m not going to just say yes.”

Indivisibles,

Yesterday, when asked if he’d accept the results of November’s election, Trump responded, “I have to see. I’m not going to just say yes.”

In the same interview, he repeated his claims that mail-in voting would “rig” the election. Trump’s continued attempts to delegitimize the election process are even more confirmation that we have to act now to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

We need you to do two things right now:

  1. Sign the Protect the Results pledge -- tell us you’re ready to act if Trump refuses to accept November’s results.
  2. Donate $10 to make sure this program and all our work can keep moving this year.

For more details about our Protect the Results partnership with Stand Up America and how we’re preparing to mobilize, read the email below. We only have a few short months before the election, and now we’ve got even more to do. Thanks for doing your part.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team

Subject: We have to be ready if Trump refuses to leave office

Indivisibles,

Imagine this: it’s November 4. Election results have come in, and Trump has lost. But he’s not on board -- he decides he won’t be leaving office after all.

We’re in the habit of trusting in the rule of law and peaceful transfer of power in the US, but that hypothetical isn’t so far-fetched: Trump himself has hinted at staying in office past 2024, and he’s been systematically undermining the public trust in election processes since he entered office.

This is a nightmare scenario for a lot of us, and we have to start preparing for it now. Luckily, that’s just what we’re doing with Protect the Results. This joint project with our partner Stand Up America is our plan to make sure Trump and everyone else respects the results of November’s election.

Read on below to find out more about our plans, but if you’re ready to make it happen, click here to give $10 to support all our work.

So how are we doing this? We’ve got a plan:

  • Build a national coalition of constitutional scholars, security experts, and more to build out action plans for hundreds of possible ways Trump might refuse to leave office -- and figure out how to react to them all.
  • Recruit a grassroots army, ready to spring into action if Trump refuses to leave office.
  • Prepare for mass mobilization of people like you nationwide -- giving people the tools and information they need to protect the results.

All told, if we need to do this work, we’re budgeting over $1.2 million between the ad buys, digital and data tools, staff time and expertise, event costs, and more that we’ll need for our response. And we need your help to make it possible.

We’re working hard to win this November, and we have to make sure that when that happens, it’ll be respected. This program, and everything you do to support it, is how we’re going to make that possible.
