This week, I voted to advance the FY 2026 bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act to increase quality of life measures for servicemembers and hold Hegseth accountable. This bill will give our troops their well-deserved 3.8% pay raise, increase congressional oversight, and support southern California manufacturers.
As Chair of the New Democrat Coalition National Security Working Group, I released my Agenda to Support Our Veterans, a plan to fulfill the government’s promise to our veterans by ensuring they receive lifelong support, resources, and benefits they earned through their military service. This agenda will secure veteran access to critical healthcare, education, and other resources to help them transition to civilian life.
Last week, I visited our military installations in Bahrain to discuss the importance of strengthening cooperation between our countries and improving quality of life for our soldiers.Thank you to all our troops for supporting our strategic missions at home and abroad.
