This is huge: the latest public polling shows James in a statistical tie with John Cornyn and Ken Paxton.
That means we’re within striking distance of both of the leading Republican candidates for Texas’ U.S. Senate seat. No matter who they nominate, James can defeat them.
This is an incredible result, and it shows just how winnable this race is.
Cornyn and Paxton have both won statewide in Texas multiple times. They’ve spent millions on Texans’ screens and have near universal name ID among voters.
The fact that James is neck-and-neck with them despite never running statewide before is a huge testament to the strength of our movement and James’ ability to build a winning coalition in Texas.
But it’s still early. We know that our opponents will be well-funded. Their billionaire mega-donors and right-wing super PACs are going to spend tens of millions of dollars to buy this seat.
So we are counting on people like you to make sure we have the resources to fight back.
