Hi John, it’s Katie. This is me, five years ago, when I was Secretary of State, proudly certifying Arizona’s seven electoral votes in the 2020 election.

Normally, this would have been a routine, procedural action. It’s not the kind of thing that would make headlines. But as we all know now, the 2020 election was different.

As Donald Trump and the extremists leading the “Stop the Steal” movement descended on Arizona, I was harassed and even received death threats because of my role in overseeing our state’s elections.

But I chose to stay the course and get the job done. Election officials counted every vote, and in the middle of a once-in-a-century pandemic, we proved that our democracy works. I made sure that the will of the people — not a single leader — was heard.

Now, in my re-election race for governor, our democracy is on the line once again.

All three of my GOP opponents have spread the same lies and conspiracy theories about our elections that made Arizona the epicenter of MAGA chaos in 2020.

All three of them have made it clear that they’ll put Donald Trump’s agenda first, no matter how much it hurts Arizonans.

And according to a recent poll, all three of them have a real shot of winning in the general election. It’s why political experts are calling this race a pure toss-up.

John, the point is, we can’t take any of this for granted. Donald Trump and the GOP establishment have made me one of their top targets to flip red in 2026, and they’ll spend whatever it takes to guarantee they have a rubber stamp for their extreme, out-of-touch agenda in the governor’s office.

That makes it all the more important that folks like you step up today.
