Fight for $15

John,

Today, I'm walking off my job at McDonald's in Durham and participating in the STRIKE for Black Lives. Together, we're showing the power of withholding our labor to demand that our employers put an end to racism, white supremacy, and economic exploitation in our workplaces.

Thousands of people with thousands of different experiences, hopes, and dreams are all rightfully angry about the lack of protection we face at work during a global pandemic. All of us are tired of being ignored and exploited by racist corporations. All of us are sick of CEO's enjoying their profits at home while we're killed in the streets.

I'm done.

And John, I need YOU to join me today to MAKE. SOME. NOISE:

Here's what you can do!

All-Day: Join a Protest
There are protests and car caravans happening in Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Durham, Hartford, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York City, Oakland, Orlando, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Toledo, and more.

All-Day: Follow along on social media
We'll be posting the best stories, updates, and photos from the strikes and protests on social media. Follow along on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to be part of it all. Share, like, comment, and RT to amplify our message and share your own story, art, or in-home action!

12 pm Local: 8:46 Moment of Silence
If you can't be at an event in person, you can take a knee, hold a moment of silence, or walk off your job for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to honor George Floyd's life and the countless others taken too soon by systemic racism and police violence. Join the 8:46 action at noon from wherever you are.

3 pm ET / 12 pm PT: Strike for Black Lives Livestream
Check out the highlights from the day on the Fight for $15 Facebook page at 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT. We'll have updates from the NYC protest outside Trump Tower, McDonald's worker strikes all over the country, global solidarity actions, and more!

This movement is only getting bigger from here. Thanks for all that you do.

Onward!
