Supporting Local Businesses This Christmas Season
This December, I toured Haynie’s Green Acres in Crowley, Texas. It is a family-owned Christmas Tree Farm that has been serving our community since 1978. During my visit, I spoke with the Haynie family about how the Working Families Tax Cuts continue to help local entrepreneurs. This Christmas season, I encourage every Texan to support a family-owned business!

Introducing the Safer Schools Act of 2025
This week, I introduced the Safer Schools Act of 2025. This bipartisan legislation establishes two pilot grant programs within the Department of Justice to help schools assess and strengthen their campus physical security.

I also introduced the Merger Process Review Act. This legislation improves transparency and efficiency in bank merger reviews. As a member of the Financial Services Committee, I am committed to strengthening our financial system and supporting the local institutions that serve Main Street.

Empowering Veteran Entrepreneurs
This week, the House Small Business Committee held an important hearing focused on expanding opportunities for America’s veterans. Too many service members return to civilian life without clear pathways to entrepreneurship, and that must change.
While our veterans were defending this nation, their peers were gaining skills and building careers. Now, it is our responsibility to ensure they have the tools to thrive when they come home.

Delivering Results for America’s Financial Future
This was a busy and productive week in the Financial Services Committee. Our focus was on protecting community banks, expanding credit access, and ensuring that new technologies strengthen Main Street America.

I also met with the Texas Bankers Association and with America’s Credit Union leadership to advance key priorities and strengthen opportunities for the people they serve. Together, we are working to ensure American families and small businesses have the credit they need to succeed.
Congress Passes the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act
America remains the world’s strongest nation because of our military. By passing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, Congress makes it clear that we are committed to protecting our homeland, supporting our troops, and maintaining global leadership.
President Trump Announces $12 Billion in Support for America’s Farmers
This week, President Trump announced a $12 billion aid package for American farmers, delivering relief for the men and women who feed our communities. This support will help producers manage input costs and plan for next season! Thanks to this Administration’s pro-growth leadership, rural America is finally getting the support it deserves.
