Kristi Noem is unqualified and incompetent. Sign the petition to demand she be removed from office and held accountable for the harm she’s caused as DHS secretary.
Dear MoveOn member,
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem lied multiple times at a congressional hearing this week, denying that veterans and U.S. citizens have been deported. In fact, even when introduced to a combat veteran who was deported to South Korea, Noem refused to take full accountability. As DHS secretary, Noem has defied court orders, carried out cross-border deportations without due process, and approved overseas deportations that have torn families apart, while brushing off oversight from the courts and Congress.
Krist Noem’s unchecked power, unlawful actions, and disgusting disregard for our immigrant neighbors cannot go unanswered. Will you add your name to the petition demanding accountability and her removal from office?
Secretary Noem is incompetent and doesn’t even know what is happening within the agencies she's supposed to be leading. The consequences fall on real people and their lives. Veterans, children, and even United States citizens have been deported under Noem’s leadership.1 Even as Democratic lawmakers called her out for the harm her agency has done, Noem doubled down, fiercely defending Trump’s radical immigration agenda, the conduct of ICE, and denying all misconduct of U.S. immigration officers.2
Calls for Noem’s resignation are growing. On Thursday, Representative Delia Ramirez took the first step toward Noem’s impeachment, calling out Noem for lying and defying Congress and the courts.3 During the hearing, members of Congress repeatedly called out Noem for ignoring congressional oversight, and she ultimately left the hearing early without answering their questions.4 It's clear Noem is afraid of accountability.
Noem is not qualified to lead the Department of Homeland Security. She is not only incompetent in her role leading ICE and Customs and Border Patrol, but we’ve also seen massive disasters happen under her watch while leading FEMA, TSA, and other agencies within DHS. Noem was responsible for slowing disaster response after the devastating Texas floods, diverting resources from other agencies to Trump's deportation machine, and mass firings leading to understaffing and whistleblower complaints.5 Noem must go—add your name now.
It’s time for Noem to go. She must be held accountable for the harms that she has done to our neighbors, our communities, and our country. Will you sign the petition and then share it with three friends?
Thanks for all you do.
