John —every year around my birthday, I can’t help but reflect on how I want to live whatever time I have left. On my 82nd birthday, that reflection happened in a jail cell because I refused to stay quiet about the climate crisis — which was not, I’ll admit, part of the plan. So for my 88th? My team is hosting a virtual celebration to roast me. A little embarrassment, a lot of love, and a few friends who’ve known me long enough to tell stories I probably shouldn’t let them share.
Every ticket from this celebration helps fund our work to elect climate champions and flip the House in 2026. And as a special thank-you, all ticket holders will receive the recipe for one of my favorite holiday cocktails (or mocktails!) to toast with. We have a big year ahead. Big challenges, big opportunities, and big moments to rise to. I believe with everything in me that when people come together — in celebration and in purpose — we can outmatch the fossil fuel industry’s influence.
