The global neoliberal elite are reeling from the release of the
Trump National Security Strategy, which, in the words of Schiller
Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, has “usefully provoked a crisis
that was long overdue.”
In her
statement, “Withdraw From NATO! New National Security Strategy
Requires New Security Architecture,” which is available for
circulation and endorsement, Zepp-LaRouche asserts:
Under today’s conditions of a financial meltdown of the
Trans-Atlantic system, the new [National Security Strategy] document
has created the opportunity for a rational reassessment of one’s own
security interests and the redesign of the international security
architecture.
While Trump's new strategy paper is rife with problems and
shortfalls that deserve criticism, it should be seen as creating an
enormous opportunity. It's now our job to seize upon this situation
and organize for an actual replacement to the failed system that has
not only brought on the horrors of war—from Gaza to Ukraine—but has
also brought the entire global financial system to the brink of
collapse.
So where does the solution lie? Zepp-LaRouche’s statement
continues:
We have reached a point in the universal history of mankind,
where we must leave behind not only half a millennium of colonialism,
but also the mindset that led to two world wars in the 20th century:
geopolitics. We must leave behind, once and for all, the barbaric idea
that we always need an enemy, that man is a wolf to man, as Thomas
Hobbes, the ideologist of the British Empire, believed…. We are the
only species known in the universe that is endowed with creative
reason, and we must now use it by putting the idea of one humanity
first as we establish a new order.
