Good morning, my friend!
I woke up excited about the prospect of snow (Spoiler: no snow) and instead, read of two terrible attacks. One was a shooting at Brown University, in Providence, RI, and the other was at a Jewish Chanukah festival in Australia. Between the two, many lives have been lost, many have been injured, and those who loved the victims will be forever changed, as well as those young people under orders to shelter in place in libraries, labs, and dormitories as shots rang out.
It seems impossible that I'm writing about these things in front of our beautiful Christmas tree in our cozy home, feeling so safe and warm. I pray for those affected.
I'll limit my talk of current events to this point because I could write thousands of words about how terrible it is, and it would not do anybody one bit of good to read it.
It's still dreadfully cold for this Southerner here at 27 degrees overnight! It's above freezing right now, and thank goodness for that because it appears that it will rain all day. I did live in Canada for 18 years, so I'm relatively good at driving in snow and ice, but most people around here decidedly are not.
My daughter baked some of our holiday cookies yesterday and I had numerous samples. I can confirm they're quite tasty.
I'm really excited to have finished another book. Last time it took two surgeries, and this time it took two bouts of pneumonia to finish. Hopefully, this is not a trend that will continue because my brain is just full of stories I want to tell.
I have advance reader copies of Haven Hill available in PDF format. You can grab them there until my books go live on Amazon, at which point, they'll no longer be available on my website. The current price is only good through midnight tonight!
End the cliffhangers and grab your copy for as little as $2 and help support the website! Times are tight, and your purchases are greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much to those of you who have already purchased it! I'd love to know what you think of the complete book!
Today's plans are to definitely stay indoors, do some laundry, and cuddle up with my cat and read a book. Oh, the exciting life of a blogger and storyteller!
I hope that you and yours are cozy and safe as the holidays draw closer. We really shouldn't take it for granted, but we must also not succumb to fear in a way that makes our lives smaller and less joyful. That is why I sign every email the way I do.
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
